Default Hardcore mode (player created)

Well, in my other thread about searching for somethign epic to do, someone came up with the idea of having a thing along the lines of a "Hardcore mode", and it goes like this:

8 people (or more) make new characters in pre (because the intro is better there, and suits this better) and these people stay in groups with eachother, and no one else.

These people continue through all the games, completeing all of them, and possibly get titles eventually.

some rules i figured would be good:

1. Only play these characters when another person in your group is on (hopefully all so you stay together)

2. No power leveling(makes sence, no?)

3. This one might be a stretch but, no trading for items (including no storage transfering), unless its in your group. AKA, you only get what drops for you. so no going on another character, and buy weapons and runes for your guy. This includes no putting money in the storage so your guy can get his elite armour.

4. no dieing. If you die, you can't play with the group anymore, and are replaced with someone else doing this hardcore mode, or by a hench/hero. Same goes for hench/heros. if they die, then they can't be used anymore.

5. You could participate in PvP, but you'll probably die, and we'd need to keep a close eye on your deaths.

Note: i am still thinking if a character dies we should be able to "Pilfer the body" aka, he can trade all his stuff away to other players in the party so they can use his stuff.

Final note: i am wondering if we should have pre only start, because that restricts use of rits, sins, paras and dervs. paras being the gods of this hardcore mode.

If you wish to participate in this "hardcore mode" please PM me or leave a message here saying you want to be apart of it (but not both, because im looking for numbers here) ofcourse we would need some sort of staff to overlook people if we have a mass amount of people wanting to do this, to make sure the rules are followed.

Please leave any comments to improve this guide, and if you are to critisize it, please make it constructful so i can build off it.

(also, excuse my spelling, havent used a keyboard in a long time ><)

This should belong either in sardelic as an idea or in that looking for groups section, not in riverside?

Either way, ugh. I can't imagine trying to play and being a survivor (which is basically what you're saying) in a whole group of survivors. Everyone would run away at the first sign of damage. Everyone would be a monk, and they'd all self heal. Meh.

If you wanted to make it really Hardcore then all should start on brand new accnts with no items or skills unlocked

i figured i should post it here as more of a poll first, to see how widley it would be accepted, not to see if i could get a small group going. that would last like 2 hours max.

and its not an idea to be implemented into the game either, but more of a player run thing. anet isn't that nice to us to do something along this line for us. they have the "But were working on GW2!!!!" excuse. not even trying to keep the once massive fan base they had.

many people would probably want to choose monk, but the idea is to play the game, the way you do now, but as if you had 1 life. and no one should be dieing if you play normally anyway (unless its H/H which die cause they dont know how to move out of AoE ><)

If ANet made a mode like that and it actually had a good amount of people that I would actually see seven other people wanting to do this, I might consider this fun to try.

But no, I can't even count on there being enough reliable players in some mission outposts.

If Anet actualy made this mode I'd QQ. If it's based on player preference, then why not...yea but I think everyone would be pussies and run OMGOMG I don't wanna die! And some missions are almost impossible not to have anyone die in at all (Gates of Madness, Ruins of Morah, THK...)

do you people not understand? i said i don't want anet to put this in, but it would be a nice thing tho.

the reason im making it player based is so i have people who wont run around QQing and running around hopeing not to die. If you volunteer for this, then power to you, if you complete everything like this then bragging rights for you, but if your going to be a pussy and run around not wanting to die, then don't try it out. To have you need to put something on the line. games get boring with repetative play where you die lots. if we take out the aspect of where you dont care if you die, things change. you will probably play safer, you will feel scared to do dangerous things. but you will feel excited when you almost die, get a little rush when you barely live. It's when you have that one thing on the line that makes things so much more fun.

good version of "hardcore mode", but you want something truly hardcore, solo all of the missions, in HM and nm, SOLO, not with heroes or hench, just you, I know a few people who do this frequently, and I've done it a few times for certain missions just for stihs and selggig, more hard than playing through survivors with other survivors imo.

Disagree?

Go try doing dragon's lair solo on hm.

Alot harder than just trying to go through it without dieing imo. Because you get no support other than the 8 skills on your bar, and is fun and challenging to do in hm or nm so long as you're not running some gimmick.

Use the PUGs and Grouping forum for looking for people to do things. If you weren't looking for discussion, don't post a thread in the general discussion forum. Closed.
